We had an actual thunderstorm yesterday, with no snow, no sleet, no frozen water in any form. There's something so comforting about thunder. Extra comforting this time, because maybe it signifies the crazy white stuff is gone for good. Maybe? Please?

I went up to the office for a while yesterday. It doesn't get much use since my kids are all in school. I miss it. Although, while I was up there yesterday something was irritating my eyes. I think it's the stinky chair. (I tried to find the posts about the office and the stinky chair for the new readers, but I think they're on the old blog.) So that chair has to go, and then we'll see. It makes sense now why I've always felt sleepy up there. Some subtle chemical irritating my eyes. I've only been up there 2-4 times since I eliminated fragrances.

The writing went very well yesterday, though, despite the irritation. I've been feeling pretty crappy about this book because it I was cutting and cutting, watching my word count drop and drop, and that is the most depressing damn thing in the world. Yeah, yeah, I was cutting bad stuff. Whatev. But yesterday I saw an ENORMOUS plot hole, and I think I can make up all those cut words and then some! It's a huge opportunity for expansion. I'm excited again. And I'm still close to being done.

Gotta go get ready for my doctor's appointment. This is my yearly assessment of thyroid level, but I think I should also tell the doc about the old injury to my hand. I have the money but that won't be true in a couple of months. It's probably to late to do anything about it, but it can't hurt for him to look at it.

  1. Too bad about the chair. Maybe an old style wooden one? With a hypoallergenic pillow for your tailbone?

I wanted to congratulate you on your grandbaby. Yay!

And yay for finding a plot hole before you thought you had the story all perfected. That would probably been disheartening.

And sorry about the chair. :( Hope you get it worked out soon. Keep going! So close! SOOOO close!

  3. Hahahaha, ya wimpy! Can't handle the white stuff for more than a few days, huh? LOLOL Good thing you don't live up here, or where Kristy does! ;) We just got about another 6" or so last night, with more forecast for the next couple of days. Ugh.

I remember the stinky chair! As I recall, you had a cat that liked it alot?

I think it's a good idea for the doc to look at your hand too. As long as you're there, right? He was really good at listening to you.

And I'm so glad to hear you're happy about the book. I know how frustrating it can get, going through the editing process, refining, polishing. It takes a lot of work, but in the end I think you'll be happy with what you have. Patience, you're almost there! :)

  4. No, I can not handle the damn white stuff! LOLOL The doc was great again. The x-ray looked good, so it's some soft-tissue thing giving me problems now. It should keep getting better.

  5. Funny story about the stinky chair...it's a recliner I got off the side of the road. I had a bad back and couldn't sit up at the computer, and that recliner did the trick. I have to say, though, that I won't be sorry to see it go. It's disgusting. I wouldn't have put it in my house, no way, but it was barely acceptable for the office in the shed.

    Thanks for the congrats. :)

  6. We've got white stuff on the ground here as I type this. And here I was thinking I lived in Texas. But how excited was my kiddo? VERY.

Say no to stinky chairs and health issues. Say yes to fixing plot holes and happy writer feelings.

    Good for you. Keep writing.

  7. Uh yeah. LOTS of white stuff. At least it's not damaging your house like it is mine :( Evil ninja snow... sneaking into my house through the roof and wrecking major havoc!

I want a thunderstorm! And yes, that's me whining.
