I've been off line for a while, battling the annual ant invasion and healing my hand and planting a garden. By the time I get done with the fence-building and tilling and wheel barrow assembly, my hand is too tired to type. Thank goodness we got everything finished just before the current stretch of rough weather. My muscles are sore, but glad for the exercise; my hand is not glad at all.

Reminderfox has been the godsend I'd hoped, but it only runs in the Firefox browser, which means you IE and Safari peeps are out of luck. It pops up reminders for upcoming events every two hours; so far I have only bills on there, but I will add birthdays as I go.

I am in the midst of a major life change, but not sure what it is; like ta'veren Mat Cauthon in the Wheel of Time books I can hear the dice tumble in my head, telling me the Wheel weaves around me but not the nature of the weave. When the dice come to rest I will know. Probably a mid-life crisis, which I prefer to call a mid-life awakening. It's only a crisis for the people who can't (or won't) accomodate your growth.

Some brief points:

  • coffee is as enjoyable as ever

  • got three strawberries out of the garden yesterday...before the fence went up I found the first ripe strawberries nibbled, still on the plant

  • a stray cat has started hanging's nice having him here

  • lately I prefer analog life to digital life; still keeping tabs on you, just lurking

  • feel like I'm missing someone, but don't know who that would be

  • wondering if the average person has a life purpose, or if that is reserved for the really special people

  1. Glad your hand is improving. Writing is excellent, as always! My, my what could be these big changes of which thouest speak???

  2. I can't help but wonder if you're about to make a switch to writing non-fiction, like about fragrance poison or other environmental concerns. It might be a really good synthesis of your old loves and new.

  3. Strawberries are an overrated fruit, but they make a good jam.

  4. I disagree with WIGSF; I think strawberries are UNDERrated and deserve their notoriety. It's BLUEBERRIES that are overrated.

That said, I'm glad you sent up a flare. Was sitting down to write you an email when I got this. Heh.

  5. A busy girl - you did that last Spring too. But I'm glad your hand is feeling better!

Sounds like you've had a lot on your mind - missing someone but not sure who? Maybe you?

I think everyone has a life purpose - some of us just don't discover it but that doesn't mean it's not there. And really special people? We're all unique, so who is more special than us? :)

Love you dolly, glad to hear you're doing okay.

Hey, did I see that you got a cell phone not too long ago?

  6. Yeah, I got one of those no-contract phones from the dollar store. I can tell already I won't be using anywhere near all the minutes, but it's good to have it.

  7. Ah, okay. I was hoping you got a verizon family plan so we could talk more.

  8. No no, Darc and wigsf are both wrong! its BLACKBERRIES that are underrated and the other two so overly hyped its obscene!

  9. Oh, dear. Spring strawberries. I'm so jealous! Also on the edge of my seat for these life changes of yours. I love what you're writing about mid-life "awakenings". It just doesn't have to be a crisis - at least not a long one. :) Take care, Sherri and thanks for visiting me.
